    John Crompton Earned my respect...

I just re-watched yesterday's game on CSS's encore (a cool as hell show, replaying all the SEC games, love it), and Crompton did everything he could to win teh ballgame. He made some GREAT throws, the sideline throw, the down the middle to Stocker was perfect, hitting Hardesty, Gerald Jones, etc..

He made one mistake all day, the early INT. Other than that, I saw no real obvious flaws in his game at all. The running game was not there, and Crompton still came thru on big plays and made every right throw.

UT fans, I think you found your QB Saturday.

and god I hate Vern and Gary Danielson.
all Danielson could talk about after the block FG at the end was Cody taking his helmet off. He couldnt mention how GREAT a play Cody made? How great UT played? The defensive intensity?? Its ridiculous, this game will not be defined by Cody taking his helmet off, it was an instant classic, remembered for SEC rivarly at its finest, two teams with the utmost respect for each other, and the inate desire to bring violence to the other.

Just another great game in the long line of SEC great games, and great games in the UT/UA series.

    Roll Tide!

He's played very well for the last 10 quarters. Its quite the accomplishment from the way he had played the last year and half or so. If he can keep it up, I think we get in a very nice bowl game.

Stripes is right. For the last 2 1/2 games he's been very good. I think he put up more yards against Bama than anyone else has this year. When they do the things he's good at, he can get the job done. I'd like to have the UCLA and Auburn games back with the way he's playing now.

Biggin', you'll be happy to know that I'm hearing that Jeff Luc might be commiting to UT this week.

    Bama's been out on him.

I still think he stays in state, UF is what id guess right now, but from all he's said, UT is solid at #2 now. he had his visit out west, never can count them out either.

Id still say hes an in state guy right now, but its not by much anymore.
    the darkhorse is FSU here.
if they can win the rest of their games and look impressive, they can get right back in.

you guys are bout convinced tho, i noticed that.

wonder if kiffin will fly out in a helicopter again?

maybe itll work this time lol

Yeah, I now think Kiffin is not gonna hold back and let Crompton make plays. He is at his best also when he is in the 2 minute IMO. He has played well the last couple of games and is pretty close to the top of the SEC in TD passes.

The UA/UT game was a classic and I agree with all you said Biggin. Vern and Danielson are dreadful and make my ears bleed. I have never liked listening to them, just too bad John Ward isn't calling the shots because no matter who was on the TV I would just mute it and turn on the radio.

The whole Cody taking his helmet off is crazy, I know it was technically a penalty but no reason to dwell on that, he made a great play.

And as far as Luc, just about everything I have seen "recently" has him leaving the state of Florida and coming up I-75 to Knoxville, at least I hope. Did he actually take his visit to Southern Cal this week, I know it was up in the air on whether he was going or not.

And also, how great would it be to steal Elam away from the Gators as well. I really don't know if that is gonna happen but I will never count out this staff and their relentless recruiting efforts.

He started the 1st half out terrible in that game. Thats why I said 10 quarters, because around halftime is where it started to click.

His receivers started terrible...Crompton didn't look bad at all..all game. His receivers had 4 drops in the first half. I don't care who ya are, as a QB you're not gonna look good when that happens.

The first quarter he couldn't even get it close enough for them to drop, it was terrible. I have saw QBs you coached look better than that. Your right in the drops but that was late in the 2nd quarter where 3 drops came almost consectively.
